Refugees Welcome Polska connects Warsaw residents who have a spare room in their home with people with refugee experience who need it. In this way, the newcomers can find a roof over their heads, but not only – the program also opens the way to integration, mutual recognition and breaking stereotypes – a common roof opens many doors.
AIM OF THE AUCTION
The Refugees Welcome auction engages artists and collectors to support people with refugee experience. The proceeds from the auction will be donated to the maintenance of two programs of the Ocalenie Foundation: Refugees Welcome Polska and the Help Center for Foreigners.
The Help Center for Foreigners is a very special place on the map of Warsaw. Its employees come from six countries and speak eleven languages. They help foreigners in finding work and housing, offer legal and psychological assistance and support them in other everyday problems. Every year, around 2,000 people benefit from the center’s assistance.
